Should You Consider Selling Your iPad for a Galaxy Tab 2?

It is a common sight nowadays to see people sell an old iPad and shift loyalties to another brand. Samsung is one brand that has been trying to break into the US market with several products under its portfolio. In effect, it has been trying to directly compete with Apple products. This compounds the Apple and Samsung friction not just in the courtrooms, where the two companies have been suing each other over copyright infringement cases. With the new iPad introduced earlier this year, it is Samsung's turn to present something new, and the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 is its newest offering in its tablet PC range.
The Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 is available in two models: the 7 inch and 10.1 inch. If you are short on cash but want to purchase a new tablet PC, you can opt to get the 7-inch Wi-Fi only model for about $250. The company has even held a promo for students where you get a free keyboard dock and external USB peripheral connector accessory bundled with every purchase of a unit. Not only that, owners are also treated to 50 GB of free space in Dropbox for a year. These freebies are in place to entice iDevice owners to sell iPad and switch to the new Samsung product.
This 7-inch nifty gadget comes only with 8 GB of internal storage. But the good news is that the microSD card case on the side can accommodate an additional 64 GB worth of space for your personal data. The dual core processor running the Android version for tablet PCs, Ice Cream Sandwich 4.0, makes this gadget an even more tempting buy. As of the moment, the Ice Cream Sandwich can match the iOS 5, but when the iOS 6 is introduced this fall, Apple is expected to raise the bar in operating systems again. But then, the combination of the Ice Cream Sandwich and dual core processor makes opening programs and accessing web pages quick and seamless. The 1024 x 600 screen resolution is higher compared to its predecessor, which makes browsing the Internet and reading e-books more enjoyable activities.
On the downside, in terms of design, the iPad is still tops. Somehow, Samsung products, including this one, still have not stepped up to the level of sophistication it has. Of course, customers always want the devices they have to reflect their taste level. Not that the Galaxy Tab 2 looks tacky, but compared to the iPad, it still has a lot of catching up to do.
All in all, if you plan to sell your iPad in exchange for the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2, chances are, you will not regret your decision. With its small size, it is more convenient to bring anywhere compared to it. The great hardware specs, as well as the software, will make the device very easy to use. Of course, the affordable price is one major thing that makes this tablet PC a really affordable one that everybody can enjoy.
